I am a mudguard, a regular tricycle mudguard. My existence may seem insignificant to many people, but I have my own mission and pride. My body is made of sturdy plastic, although not as hard as steel, I am lightweight enough not to add too much burden to the tricycle. My shape is simple, but it can effectively block mud, water, and dust, protecting the body and passengers of the tricycle from getting dirty.
Every day, I shuttle through the streets and alleys of the city or the rugged paths of the countryside with my tricycle. I have witnessed the hustle and bustle of the city and also felt the tranquility of the countryside. I, along with the tricycle, carry people’s hopes and dreams. Whether it’s the delivery guy or the farmer rushing to the market, I silently protect them.
On rainy days, I am the most loyal companion of tricycles. The rain fell on me without fear, because I knew my responsibility was to protect the tricycle and passengers from the rain. I blocked the splashing mud and water, even though I became dirty, seeing the passengers’ dry clothes filled my heart with satisfaction.
On a sunny day, I won’t be idle either. I help the tricycle reduce wind resistance, making it run faster and more stable. Although people rarely notice me, I never complain because I know that my presence is indispensable for tricycles.
As time passes, my body may wear and tear, but my spirit will never age. I will continue to stick to my post until the day when I can no longer serve tricycles and passengers. I am a mudguard, a regular tricycle mudguard. Although I may be small, I am proud because I am silently contributing my strength to this world.
